For Disabled People and Carers

This venture is for disabled people and carers and is available for anyone in receipt of a personal budget or NHS Continuing Care budget with an amount built-in for Respite Care, or a self-funder.

If you are not in receipt of either of those budgets, please phone Equality Together 01274 594173 (option 6) we will tell you how you can apply.

  • If you are a self-funder, we can still help. For those that can self-fund, we can offer a bespoke service to find the ideal holiday for your needs.
  • If you need full care there are holiday companies that can provide this.
  • If you receive either of the above budgets, you can use your respite money to have an actual holiday instead of going to a care home for a break.
  • If you are a carer and have had a carers assessment and been awarded carer’s respite money, you can use the money to go with the cared for, or, you can go on holiday without the cared for whilst they are on respite/holiday!

Alternative to Respite

We have a substantial list of accessible holiday suppliers, insurance companies, and care providers, many of whom are tried and tested.

Take a look at the listings on our website or give us a call and we can talk through your options with you.

We arrange day trips and activities for disabled people and carers. There will be a small charge to cover the wheelchair accessible coach, lunch, and admission fees.

These trips/activities may include garden centres, accessible canal boat trips on the Leeds/Liverpool canal, afternoon teas, shopping trips, seaside trips, etc.

These can be booked online or by speaking to the team.

We also have up to date information about local activities such as swimming, gyms and walking clubs.
