Holibreak+
Welcome to Equality Together’s Alternative to Respite Project, HoliBreak+.
For Disabled People and Carers
This project is for disabled people and carers. It is available for anyone in receipt of a personal budget or NHS Continuing Care budget with an amount built-in for respite care. Alternatively, you can use this service if you can fund it yourself.
If you are not in receipt of either of those budgets, please phone Equality Together 01274 594173 (option 5) we will tell you how you can apply.
- If you are a self-funder, we can still help. For those that can self-fund, we can offer a bespoke service to find the ideal holiday for your needs.
- If you need full care, there are a few holiday companies that can provide this.
- If you receive either of the above budgets, you can use your respite money in the UK to have a holiday instead of going to a care home for a break.
- If you are a carer and have had a carers assessment by Bradford Council, and have been awarded carer’s respite money, you can use the money to go with the cared for, or you can go on holiday without the cared for whilst they are in respite or on holiday with care.

Many people aren’t aware that they are able to use their respite money for a holiday as an alternative to staying in a care home.
Whether you enjoy a leisurely long weekend on a canal barge, a sun-filled holiday of relaxation, or an action-packed skiing adventure, this project may have something for you.
HoliBreak+ offers the choice to take the break you want with the accessibility you need. It’s not just holidays we offer. We’ve also got activities listed on the website, local events and day trips.
