Neurodiversity and learning disabilities – get involved

The Co-Production Partnership is working closely with Bradford Council and the NHS to make services better for people with learning disabilities or who are neurodivergent.

Last year we worked on some engagement events to find out what people wanted from the local strategies.

What does neurodivergent mean?

Neurodivergence is about people’s brains work in a way that is seen as unusual. People may experience the world in different ways to most people or have what is seen as unusual ways of thinking or behaving.

Neurodiverse conditions include autism, ADHD and ADD (Attention Deficient Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficient Disorder), Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia. People sometimes have more than one neurodiverse condition, and may have other disabling conditions.

People also use the terms neurodiverse instead.

We are now working with people with lived experience and staff from the council to make sure that they have a real voice as these strategies go forward.

We are wanting people to get involved in the following areas of work. Click on this link to complete our get involved form.
