Benefits Advice Duty Officer

We offer the following benefits advice to disabled people, their families and carers, anyone with mental health problems and those who are sick and unable to work.
Advice is tailored to a client’s individual circumstances and we can offer a variety of community languages. Outreach sessions are held at Morley Street Resource Centre, Bradford (with British Sign Language [BSL] interpreters) and other accessible community venues.
We have a specialist money adviser, funded by the Annette Fox Leukaemia Research Fund, to meet the needs of clients with blood cancers and disorders. This service includes dealing with grant applications, pension and mortgage information, debt options and insurance.
If you are unsure about your entitlement, we will be able to check what benefits you should be able to claim. We will be able to advise you on how to make a claim and how long it will take.
Benefit Claim Forms
We can help you to complete forms such as Disability Living Allowance (for children), Personal Independence Payment (for adults), Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance and Employment & Support Allowance.
Please note due to changes in our funding we are no longer able to offer advice or assistance in relation to benefit appeals. However we do have some helpful resources and guidance which you may access on request.
All Other Benefit Enquiries
We offer advice on such benefits as housing and council tax benefit, pension credit and tax credits. If you are looking to return to work, we will be able to advice you about how this may effect your benefits.
We operate several outreach services.
In addition to providing this service from our office at Manningham Mills Community Centre, Lilycroft Road, Bradford BD9 5BD, we operate several outreach services for benefits help.
